With a good 5lb kicker smallmouth caught on my Fitzgerald Stunner HD Rod and 1/2 ounce WOO Tungsten weight, I was able to land a respective 13th place finish in the American Bass Anglers Association Kentucky Division. With air temperatures in the 90’s and water temperatures in the upper 80’s fishing was tough. The ledge bite was slow so you really had to have a lot of patience. Unfortunately, it seems like the Asian Carp have really become an issue on Kentucky Lake. Every ledge that I fished was covered up with Asian Carp. I’m headed to Paris Landing Tennessee for next tournament at the end of August. Can’t wait to get back on the beautiful Tennessee River.
